Summer 2018 Project Update
Construction at Aliso Elementary School, Canalino/Carpinteria Family School, Carpinteria Middle School and Carpinteria High School began in late spring/early summer 2018. The total cost of construction of these projects across all four sites is just over $15.5 million.
Aliso Elementary School
Over Summer 2018, new wrought iron front entrance gates were installed to improve security and the roof of the Administration and Cafeteria Building was replaced with a new tile roof to save on energy costs and blend with the existing architectural style. Both projects were prior to the start of school. Project photos.
Canalino/Carpinteria Family School
Construction of the Gen7 Modular Classrooms is well underway and is estimated to be complete by September 30, 2018. New classroom furnishings have been ordered. Project photos.
Carpinteria Middle School
Staff and student restrooms located in the main building were remodeled during Summer 2018 and completed in time for the start of the 2018-19 school year. The front entry security system project is wrapping up and is estimated to be complete by September 15. Construction of the Gen7 Modular Classrooms began over the summer and is anticipated to be complete in early 2019 when students return from winter break. New classroom furnishings have been ordered. Carpinteria High School
Three projects were completed at CHS during Summer 2018 and ready for the start of the school year. The restrooms in wings D, F & G were remodeled. The roof on the Administration and Cafeteria Building was replaced and the walkways in from the G wing were replaced to comply with ADA requirements. Installation of the Gen7 Modular Science wing and computer classrooms began in Summer 2018 and is anticipated to be completed in early 2019 when students return from winter break.
